One of the common losses encountered is over-drawl of water from the water distribution system by households. A House Service Connection Flow Control Valve / Non-Return Valve is an excellent device which is being used to address this issue. ·         Our High precision FCV / NRV are manufactured from SS 316/ SS304/SS202 grade Stainless Steel and designed to provide predetermined water (LPM) to every household as decided by the local water authority.

·         The valves cannot be tampered by plumbers / fitters due to which the water cannot be drawn above the rated capacity of the Flow Control Valve. Hence, the valves delivers the flow in given LPM within the allowable tolerance range. This feature also helps in maintaining the Distribution System hydraulics.

·         During non-supply hours the valve has a built in Non – Return function that prevents reverse flow of any contaminants in to the distribution system from the customer end. This features also prevents the installed water meter from turning in the opposite direction due to suction of air when water supply is stopped which does not have in ferrules.

·         The ferrules in service connections are not meant for controlling the water drawls as BIS standards. Household FCV has to be fixed at locations in place of ferrule in underground to eliminate it from the removals.

·         FCV made with the rust proof solid bars of food Grade SS 316, machined with CNC & VMC for accurate dimensional curved shapes for smooth rust proof surfaces to avoid choking the inside areas.

·         FCV works on self-operating float concept; it does not need any manual adjustable screw to adjust the flow.

·         Controlled usage of water, very less wastage.

·         Construction in Food Grade SS316 steel that is resistant to chlorides present in the water thus greatly decreasing the need to replace the Valves.

Why Copper Is Antimicrobial?

“Copper is continuously working 24/7 without supervision, without any need to intervene, and it never runs out,” Schmidt said. “As long as the metal’s there, it’s good to go. “On copper surfaces, bacteria and viruses die. When a microbe lands on a copper surface, the copper releases ions, which are electrically charged particles. Those copper ions blast through the outer membranes and destroy the whole cell, including the DNA or RNA inside. Because their DNA and RNA are destroyed, it also means a bacteria or virus can’t mutate and become resistant to the copper, or pass on genes (like for antibiotic resistance) to other microbes.

Schmidt said that “using copper along with standard hygiene protocols has been shown to reduce bacteria in health care settings by 90 percent.” Bill Kevil, a professor of environmental healthcare at the University of Southampton in England: “if copper surfaces were put in communal areas where many people gather, it could help reduce the transmission of respiratory viruses, like corona-virus 229E and also SARSCoV2.” Other than hospitals, he thinks the ideal locations for copper are public transportation systems, like buses, airports, subways. Even when factoring in how much the copper costs initially, you’d make that money back in savings within two months, Schmidt said. And considering that copper never loses its microbial killing abilities—hospitals would quickly be saving money (and lives).

Antimicrobial Benefit Dwarfs the Drawbacks of Copper

Some prefer not to use copper due to its propensity to tarnish and requires polishing to keep it shining. “But copper is antimicrobial regardless of how Gordy it looks, if it turns green on you, it still has the ability to kill bacteria and viruses and fungi,” Schmidt said.  In our view, green is good.
